Hooray!!! My sister arrived ysterday, so here's some pics:

of course she brought the rain with her - anyone who has traveled with Julie must know that she's the 'weather jinx'...Hawaii is no exception.

so we had to drive to Kailua and hope the rainclouds didn't notice us moving lol. Here's some people kayaking at Kailua Beach.

I went to Hanauma Bay a few days ago and swam with a turtle!!! Usually the turtles are in other areas, but here I was in about 8-10 feet of water and came up on this guy eating coral.

How cute is he??? This is the reason I came here.

oh by the way, these are giant files, so if you click on the pic, you can really see the colors in his shell. OMG do you believe this? pissa!

Last weekend I went to the Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium....remember the baby parrots?

Anyhoo...I'm really into these new yoga pants-type deal they sell at the swap meet. I bought 2 pairs last time and Jimbo stole one. I wear the one I have left every frikkin day. Best pants ever! If you wanna see them.... http://www.mygohawaii.com/. They kinda look like pregnancy pants and I was a little insulted, but for comfy pajama pants, they really can't be beat. Plus they're ok to wear to Safeway too unlike most my pajama pants.

So I start talking to the salesguy telling him how much I love them and what I want for my next pair. And the most random thing happened. With no witnesses, mind you.

"I want this color green" (pointing to samples)

with this Bob Marley stamp (cool looking Marley embroidery)

Ummm...um.... (he scrambles looking for the pants he knows he has)

Then a voice comes out from behind the table. "you mean like these?"...enter Salesguy's assistant, pointing at his own pants.

"YES - exactly those" i tell him. "Take them off" as I crack up at my own joke

This guy stood up and took them off instantly - 'here you go, I've only had them on for 20 minutes'

I didn't really know what to say. I looked at the original salesguy, then at the pants, then the guy standing in front of me in his underwear, suddenly the salesguy starts yapping, 'yeah, really 20 minutes only...he showed up in other pants and I told him to pick out a pair of these to wear & show off"

So I said 'well it worked, I want them. I may even come back later to see what he's wearing next so I can buy that too.'

I was trying not to stare, but you don't see something like this everyday, ya know?

and p.s. of course I told him I was taking $5.00 off since they were used ;-)

at the Swap Meet

Every week, they have a flea market (aka 'swap meet') at Aloha Stadium. It's pretty huge and you never know what you may find there.

For example, while looking at crystals, I saw these two little guys.

They're baby Parrots! One is 3 weeks old (the whiter one) and the one with more color is 4 weeks old.

How cute are they?? The parrot babies were not for sale, but certainly got my attention. I got this one to look right at me when I whistled and talked to him:

i got so excited over posting the sumo pics, I almost forgot the sunset pictures..are you sick of these yet? Cuz I'm not.

i love watching the waves build up and crash.

Only in Hawaii...

Where else can you take a walk to the Beach to watch the sunset and bump into a group of people doing Sumo?

It happened...I never laughed so hard in all my life - these people jumped into fat suits and sumo wrestled each other out of the circle. Now THAT is entertainment!
